Where can I watch the match tonight in Biarritz?

At Molly’s Pub, in the Docks district of Biarritz, on four big screens. Scheduled screenings are on the “Upcoming screenings” board at the top of this page, with kick-off times as soon as they are set. Your match isn't there? Ask for it: if a big fixture isn't already using the screens, we'll put it on. Last-minute news goes out on Instagram @mollyspub.biarritz.

Can I hold a table for a match?

No, the Molly’s is first come, first served: there’s no table booking. For a big fixture, arrive half an hour early.

Can you see a screen from every seat?

There are four big screens, two on the ground floor and two upstairs. Wherever you sit, one of them is in your line of sight. The sound is set so you can hear the commentary without shouting to talk to the person next to you.

Do you open earlier for a morning kick-off?

Yes. Usual hours are 4:30 pm Tuesday to Friday and 2pm on Saturday, but when a match starts before that — a World Cup on the other side of the world, an autumn tour — we open earlier. It goes out on Instagram.

We are coming as a group of ten for a match, how does that work?

Just come along: no booking, even for groups. For a big fixture, arrive half an hour early to sit together. If you’re celebrating something at the same time, we privatise a space from 10 people, the upstairs floor from 20 and the whole pub from 70, screens included, on a quote.

An English pub, four screens, a whole season

Molly's is an English pub on the Docks of Biarritz, a short walk from the station. Sport is watched here the way it is watched in a pub: standing at the bar or sitting upstairs, drink in hand, surrounded by people commenting out loud.

Four big screens, two in the bar and two upstairs, and sound set so you can hear the commentary without shouting to talk to the person next to you. Rugby and football share the season, neither ahead of the other; tennis or another league goes on at your request, when a big screening isn't already using the screens.

A match night on the Docks

What you will find when you push the door open.

On big-match nights the pub fills up early and spills onto the forecourt. Biarritz Olympique and Aviron Bayonnais regulars, visiting supporters, curious passers-by following the noise: nobody is out of place, and the unwritten rule is that you can tease without pushing it.

Midweek the mood is calmer. A Thursday- or Friday-night Pro D2 game, or a Champions League night on a Tuesday or Wednesday, can be watched without elbowing your way in.

Rugby
The big Top 14 and Pro D2 fixtures, Biarritz Olympique and Aviron Bayonnais home and away, the Six Nations, the Champions Cup and the Challenge Cup, the World Cup and international tests.
Football
The Champions League, the Europa League, the Conference League and the Nations League are on the schedule. Ligue 1, La Liga or the Premier League go on at your request, when a big screening isn't already using the screens.
Tennis
The big ATP tournaments and the Grand Slams aren't scheduled as standard: ask for them and we'll put them on as soon as a screen is free.
When two matches overlap
There are four screens, two in the bar and two upstairs, so two games can run at once. No sport comes before another, and the pub stays open to its customers' requests.

Before you come

When to arrive, and who with

The pub opens at 4:30 pm Tuesday to Friday and at 2pm on Saturday; it is closed on Sundays and Mondays, except for the very biggest sporting events. For a big fixture — Six Nations, a Top 14 final — allow a good half hour: that is the difference between choosing your spot and putting up with it.

When a match kicks off before the usual opening time, we open earlier. The matches we show are on the board at the top of this page; Instagram is for the unexpected, like an early opening or a last-minute change.

There’s no booking: it’s walk-in only, even for groups. Celebrating something at the same time? We privatise a space from 10 people, the upstairs floor from 20 and the whole pub from 70, on a quote.
